Announcement for Second Construction Seminar 2019
“Inviting paper presentations”
The Construction Development Corporation Limited (CDCL), in collaboration with the College of Science and Technology (CST), is organizing the 2nd Construction Seminar 2019 on the Theme “Emerging Trends in the Construction Industry” on 29th and 30th August 2019 at Royal University of Bhutan conference hall Thimphu, Bhutan.
The objective of the Seminar is to create awareness and address issues pertaining to policy and practical aspects in the constructor sector. We encourage papers on the emerging issues on the hard-core engineering aspects as well as from related perspectives including contract management, OHS, EIA and EMP.
The papers shall be broadly categorized under following topics:
1) Contract Management
2) Occupational Health and Safety
3) EIA & EMP
4) Construction of Surface and Underground infrastructure
Therefore, papers are invited from interested professionals to share their knowledge and experiences in the field. The details on the seminar and presentation papers are made available on our websites www.cdcl.bt/www.cst.edu.bt
Following are the key dates and information to submit paper presentations:
1) Deadline to submit papers
2) 30th June 2019. The papers must be submitted in both soft and hard copies (one set) to the focal person whose contact address is given below.
3 Format (Body)
3.1 Font: Candara
3.2 Font size: 12
3.3 Space: 1.5
3.4 No. of pages: Maximum 15 pages
3.5 Margin: 2.5cm (top, bottom, left and right)
3.6 An abstract of the paper between 100 – 150 words or about half a page should be included.

5 Format (Author)
5.1 Appearance: Below the title
5.2 Alignment: Center

5.5 Details to be included: Name, Designation & dept./Org. and email address.
5.6 A brief profile (max. 100 words) about the author with PP size photo should be included.
6 Presentation Time
The selected papers for presentations will receive a total of 30 minutes (15 minutes for presentation on standard power point and 15 minutes for Q&A session). But not selected papers can be also published and communicated separately.
7 Honorarium & Accommodation
The selected papers will be paid honorarium per presentation in addition to TA/DA claims, which will be as per CDCL’s Service Rules. The CDCL and CST will arrange for accommodation for the presenters.
