His Majesty Awards the National Order of Merit, Gold Medal, to the CEO of CDCL
His Majesty The Druk Gyalpo Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, during the 112th National Day of Bhutan celebrations in Thimphu, awarded Mr. Phuntsho Gyaltshen, Chief Executive Officer of CDCL, with the National Order of Merit, Gold Medal, for his services to the country.
“I am really honoured and humbled for the small contributions that I have so far made to the nation building work. This award is for all who have and continue to work for CDCL,” said Phuntsho Gyeltshen (CEO-CDCL) during an interview with Kuensel.
Phunstho Gyeltshen started his civil service career as Section Officer in Ministry of Agriculture in 1989. He then served as National Coordinator in Research Extension & Irrigation Division (Ministry of Agriculture), District Engineer in Tsirang Dzongkhag, and Executive Engineer and Project Director in Department of Urban Development and Engineering Services (Ministry of Works & Human Settlement). Prior to joining CDCL as the CEO in September 2010, he also served as the Thrompon/Executive Secretary of the Thimphu City Corporation under the Ministry of Works & Human Settlement.
