On August 12, 2024, the Zhemgang Dzongkhag Administration and Construction Development Corporation Ltd. (CDCL) signed a contract for the construction of the “Integrated Drinking Water and Irrigation Scheme, Zhemgang.”
The project aims to deliver a reliable water supply for irrigation to seven villages in Dangkhar-Trong Chewog, within Trong Gewog. Additionally, it will help alleviate the drinking water shortage in Zhemgang Throm and nearby towns. The water will be transported through a 630mm diameter HDPE pipe from Wangdigangchu, approximately 21.8 km from Zhemgang.
Funded by the Asian Development Bank (OCBN/CW-02), the project will be managed by the Department of Infrastructure Development under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and implemented by the Dzongkhag.
With a steadfast commitment to excellence, the CDCL is set to ensure the successful completion of this project by 2026, within a two-year timeframe, at a contract value of Nu. 579.74 million.
